GRANT FUNDING | PROGRAM FUNDING | COMMITTEE FORMS

Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant or program funding through the Southington Education Foundation, Inc.

The SEF provides educational grants and program funding to educators in the Southington Public schools. The grants and programs allow educators to improve the quality of public education above and beyond the conventional curriculum, identifying and addressing needs, challenges, and concerns unique to their students. The educational program should reflect the SEF mission statement as well as coordinate with existing curricula.

To date we have awarded over $260,000 in grant and program funding! View the grants we've awarded.

The SEF funds projects that enhance the educational experience and demonstrate the viability of model programs that could be implemented throughout the school system and encourage creativity and excellence in both teaching and learning, that would otherwise not be funded out of the regular Board of Education budget.

The SEF wants educators to use this opportunity to apply “out of the box thinking” in the proposed projects.

This project (Rock Our Community) allowed JFK teachers to make a difference and make a positive change in our community. Through a community collaboration, our students painted these rocks with empowering messages, and developed relationships with seniors in our community.”

What is the difference between a "program" and a "grant"?

A GRANT requires educators to design a project which includes out-of-the box thinking while aligning with the SEF mission. Any educator interested should review the Grant Funding Application Process and then contact the Grant Committee at sef.inc.grants@gmail.com if more information is required.

A PROGRAM is a project that has been developed in partnership with the SEF and one or more organizations for the purpose of fulfilling the SEF mission. Any person or organization interested should review the Program Funding Application Process and then contact the Grant Committee at sef.inc.grants@gmail.com if more information is required.
